History:

OC Roller Girls was founded in 2006 by Heather Shelton (aka Disco Dervish) to provide women with an environment that enhances personal growth and development through sport, and draws upon our diverse team of multi-talented women to compete and share dreams and victories on and off the track. We are skater-owned and operated and dedicated to leading the growing sport of women's flat track roller derby.  

Mission:

The mission of OCRG is to make a positive difference in the lives of women and youth. We believe the sport of roller derby can be a catalyst for profound change and enrichment. We believe in the value of the individual, the strength of the team, and the power of the female spirit.

Community Support

OC Roller Girls was nominated for The Volunteer Center of Orange County’s Spirit of Volunteerism Award by for our dedication. Our league has a strong sense of community and we encourage our members to devote time and resources to assisting non-profit organizations in our community through special events, appearances, donations and assuming leadership positions. Some of the representative organizations, which we serve, include: Breast Cancer Angels, Festival of Children Foundation, Christie’s Foundation, Girls Incorporated, Irvine Animal Shelter, Keep-A-Breast Foundation, L.A./Beach Cities chapter of Camping Women, Mary's Shelter, OC’s unemployed, Revlon Run/Walk For Women, Roll For A Cure, Rude Gorilla Theater, United Way Southern California Wildfire Relief Fund, Wounded Warrior Foundation, the YWCA and more!
